THANK YOU EVERYONE for another successful 3rd Annual Hip Hop for Housing Fundraiser
SAGAesc would like to personally THANK EVERYONE for another successful 3rd Annual Hip Hop for Housing Fundraiser.
Our artists included - The Pilot Band, K-Valentine, Troy, Imani Truth, Taron Blount, Pharez, The G-Twinz, Jasonn and Tomboy along with her financial gift and Legit for bringing their artistic talents.
We would also like to thank our Sponsors: Brunswick Zone, Cheesecake Factory, Jewel-Osco, Dave & Buster, GFS Marketplace and Barraco’s for your valued support!
We will be posting pictures from the event soon!
We donate our time, resources and funds to those who are less fortunate than others. Our program, “Sharing on Wheels” cater to the lives of the homeless in little ways by providing them with toiletries, blankets, socks, tee-shirts, gloves, scarves, thermos bottles/containers and other personal hygiene items (i.e., soap, towels, toothbrush, and toothpaste).
One afternoon while visiting Chicago’s downtown area distributing said items, one of our members encountered a homeless woman who conveyed that she normally carry her possessions in a cart. Her cart, being left unprotected outdoors, was stolen from her as she entered an establishment for food, this added to her problems. We have the comfort of knowing our items are safely stored in our homes, while the homeless’ home is with them wherever they travel.
SAGAesc understands the need to hold on to what’s familiar to oneself during an unsettling time. Shopping carts and paper bags hold the possessions of the homeless, which cannot follow them into most places they frequent. We want to help them keep what they have, hoping to ease their minds.
SAGAesc’s “Sharing on Wheels” program hope to partner with you to fulfill “wish requests”. The number of lives affected by homelessness in today’s economy increases daily, we want to change some of the effects. We would like to make their load a little lighter by providing any luggage on wheels such as carryon bags, duffle bags, book bags, and large re-useable bags that can go inside centers with them, with no further loss to them.
Please help us to continue helping others!
Please Help US to Help OTHERS
Dear Friend,
SAGA Empowerment Services Coalition, NFP (SAGAesc), understands we are in a crisis once described worst than the "Great Depression". Loss of jobs, unemployment, underemployment and the constant rise of goods and services will mean more difficult times for hard working middle class families, not to mention those who are already below or at the poverty line.
As budget cuts loom and federal, state and local municipalities struggle to meet their financial obligations, paints a pretty grim picture for "Middle Class America". And, the unfortunate reality, most of us won't have the ability, information and resources to stay afloat.
SAGAesc, a humbled Illinois Registered 501(c)(3) not for profit organization has been fighting tooth and nail to get funding to provide assistance to our clients as they learn to help themselves and not look for assistance from federal, state and local agencies.
It's sad to report this "harsh realty" as there is little to no funding available to help the eroding middle class who's battling to survive. For most of us, the only way we're going to manage is by learning survival skills and sharing resources.
SAGAesc's current goal is to raise $200,000.00 dollars operational/seed funding in order to purchase a facility in the southern Cook County Illinois area to operate our Housing Enrichment Initiative Program (HEIP) designed to help those looking to help themselves! Short term housing, technology, marketing, seminars and other various workshops are slated services offered as well as guest speakers to support spiritual, emotional and financial stability.
WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT BY PLEDGING $2, $4, $5, $7 DOLLARS OR MORE TO HELP US WITH THIS HUGE TASK. All donations are tax deductible.
