The objective of our "Homesharing" program is working with property owners and tenants who are at risk of becoming homeless due to economic or financial instability.
SAGA’s "Homesharing" programs works with individuals who have experienced unanticipated economic crisis. Moderate support programs include assisting property owners and tenants including those in pre-foreclosure to utilize our homesharing program by renting out rooms which will provide additional income to support home ownership and or housing. In addition, we coordinate with outside supportive services linking our clients to resources to sustain housing, strengthen families and regain self sufficiency
Rents can range from $250 - $400 monthly along with a shared contribution to household expenses.
Match-Up Program involves matching one provider (family unit) with one seeker (family unit).
Shared Living Residence Program involves two or more unrelated people who share a home. Will need landlord and tenants permission.
A Qualified Home can be; residential property, apartment, condo/townhome or mobile home.
SHARING ON WHEELS

We donate our time, resources and funds to those who are less fortunate than others. Our program, “Sharing on Wheels” cater to the lives of the homeless in little ways by providing them with toiletries, blankets, socks, tee-shirts, gloves, scarves, thermos bottles/containers and other personal hygiene items (i.e., soap, towels, toothbrush, and toothpaste).
One afternoon while visiting Chicago’s downtown area distributing said items, one of our members encountered a homeless woman who conveyed that she normally carry her possessions in a cart. Her cart, being left unprotected outdoors, was stolen from her as she entered an establishment for food, this added to her problems. We have the comfort of knowing our items are safely stored in our homes, while the homeless’ home is with them wherever they travel.
S.A.G.A. understands the need to hold on to what’s familiar to oneself during an unsettling time. Shopping carts and paper bags hold the possessions of the homeless, which cannot follow them into most places they frequent. We want to help them keep what they have, hoping to ease their minds.
S.A.G.A.’s “Sharing on Wheels” program hope to partner with you to fulfill “wish requests”. The number of lives affected by homelessness in today’s economy increases daily, we want to change some of the effects. We would like to make their load a little lighter by providing any luggage on wheels such as carryon bags, duffle bags, book bags, and large re-useable bags that can go inside centers with them, with no further loss to them.
Please help us to continue helping others!
